What’s on?

As so many events have been cancelled, I had the depressing job of removing them from these pages yesterday.

I love these particular pages because they are a daily reminder of what a vibrant town we live in and how happy I am to be part of this kind, caring community .

I wasn’t happy just leaving it as it was so I’ve decided to post at least one item in the calendar every day. It may actually be an event like the ‘The 24 Hour Kids Party’, it may be a puzzle, a story, a joke, a thought for the day, a poem, perhaps just a link…….. but it will be something positive, something lovely, something to put a smile on your face.

I love this photo from Clevedon Sailing Club. It’s getting quite busy out there and I really enjoy seeing the boats out on the water again. I also love the drama of this picture –the sky dappled by the low lying clouds which look as though they are going to descend and swallow up the tiny little boats on the calm, silvery water.

Drain Down and Refill at Clevedon Marine Lake starts today at 12.00am The lower penstock is broken (which drains the last metre or so of water) so
North Somerset have been asked to pump out the residual water. Bob, a trustee will fit a new penstock on tomorrow and Tuesday.

Mike Marsh will be dredging mud with the big digger from Monday 5th to Friday 9th October, so for safety reasons the lakeside will be closed on those days, apart from the working party. The lake will probably refill on Thursday 15th, so we have from Saturday 10th October to Wednesday 14th to clean up the lake bed and any mess on the sides.

Help of all ages is always welcome appreciated on these occasions. More information about exact times of refill to follow.
