BARRY STANSON IS EXHIBITING UNTIL 31st May 2025
Barry’s lifelong fascination with pottery began in his youth, sparked by watching the mesmerising BBC interludes of the mid-1950s, which showcased the art of throwing on a wheel.
Though captivated early on, it wasn’t until he was twenty-seven that he formally pursued his passion, enrolling in college to specialise in ceramics, particularly throwing techniques.
Today, Barry enjoys the versatility of creating both thrown and hand-built pieces, often integrating the two. Working primarily with white and red earthenware, he decorates his creations with vibrant coloured slips, favouring a palette of the three primary colours.

Barry draws inspiration from a diverse range of cultural media and the intriguing objects that surround him, constantly striving to imbue traditional forms with a contemporary edge. His creative mind readily finds inspiration in unexpected places – a crumpled piece of paper, for instance, might spark the idea for a textured surface. As his own most discerning critic, Barry remains perpetually engaged in the pursuit of that perfect form and structure.

KLAUDIA WOJCIECH IS EXHIBITING UNTIL 7th JUNE.

Born in Poland in 1988, Klaudia Anna Wojciech, is an artist working within the expressive realism style. Her artistic vision is enriched by influences from Impressionism, Classicism, Realism, and Art Nouveau.
Klaudia’s academic background includes studies in Sculpture and Graphic Arts at the Faculty of Arts, University of Silesia in Cieszyn. She also qualified as a trained Conservator Technician from the High School of Fine Arts in Nowy Wiśnicz. This diverse educational foundation has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of both artistic creation and the preservation of artistic works.
Klaudia’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in the desire to capture the inherent beauty found in the human form and the natural world. Often, she interweaves these subjects with elements of fantasy, literature, and cinema, creating evocative and layered pieces. Klaudia demonstrates versatility in her choice of mediums, skillfully employing techniques such as pencil drawing, oil painting, acrylics, and watercolour to bring her artistic concepts to life.

A significant milestone in Klaudia’s career was the opportunity to exhibit her work at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris in 2023, an experience she found profoundly inspiring. In addition to this international exposure, she actively participates in local exhibitions and various art events, engaging with the artistic community and sharing her creations with a wider audience.

Currently living near Bristol, Klaudia extends her passion for art by leading an art group in Nailsea and offering private art lessons. Through these endeavours, she fosters the creative growth of others while simultaneously continuing to explore and develop her own unique artistic journey.

TUDOR EVANS IS EXHIBITING UNTIL 11th JUNE

For Tudor, the allure of surrealism lies in its boundless capacity to conjure dreamlike realities, a fascination he translates into his compelling collages. His unique artistic process begins with a mindful act of rescue: sourcing original 19th-century prints from damaged, broken, and often overlooked Victorian books and magazines. These once-treasured pages, deemed unfit for their original purpose and facing oblivion, become the very building blocks of his imaginative creations.
Tudor meticulously selects and recontextualises these historical illustrations, breathing new life into them as distinctive recycled artworks. The power of his surreal visions has garnered international acclaim, with his collages featured in numerous exhibitions and now cherished within collections spanning the world, a testament to his innovative approach and the universal appeal of his dreamlike narratives.

SIMON WILLIAMS IS EXHIBITING UNTIL 12th JULY AND WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR A MEET AND GREET ON SATURDAY 10TH MAY, SUNDAY 25th MAY AND 29th MAY FROM 11.00 a.m. TO – 4.00 p.m.

Having dedicated himself to digital photography since 2010, Simon experienced a compelling return to analogue practices in 2018, focusing his artistic endeavours on antique cameras and historical photographic processes.
This shift reflects a deliberate move away from the relentless drive for ever-increasing megapixels and images that strive for hyperrealism, which can feel detached from genuine experience. Instead, his work celebrates the inherent imperfections of these foundational techniques, yielding evocative photos that invite the viewer into a more intimate connection.
While the pristine clarity of contemporary digital images often leads to rapid consumption and potential disregard, Simon’s photography aims to cultivate a more considered engagement. By encouraging exploration, reflection, and imaginative interpretation, his images seek to leave a more lasting impression on the observer.
During the 2020-21 lockdown, Simon immersed himself in the 150-year-old wet plate collodion technique, a process contemporary with the cameras he uses. This method results in unique images made of silver on glass, possessing a distinct interaction with light, unlike that of digital or conventional print media. Subsequently, collaborations with organisations such as Underfall Yard and the Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust followed, producing work that celebrates the history and enduring character of Bristol’s industrial past, highlighting the inherent beauty found within the passage of time.

The level of interest generated by this work has been notable; the antique cameras themselves often become a point of fascination when on location. This public engagement has led to features in local press and radio, as well as a video appearance on the BBC website in 2022.
Expanding his artistic scope, Simon has also ventured into 3d stereoscopic and panoramic photography, consistently utilising century-old cameras. Each creation remains a testament to a meticulous, hand-crafted approach, resulting in wonderfully atmospheric works of photographic art that bridge historical processes with a contemporary artistic vision.

JANE BOOT IS EXHIBITING UNTIL 12th JULY 2025

Jane is a versatile and imaginative artist based in Bristol, whose creative journey has taken a fascinating and diverse path. For fifteen years, she honed her organisational and logistical skills working as a theatre and television production manager.
Following a career break to raise her three children, Jane embarked on a significant artistic shift, enrolling at the London College of Fashion to pursue a BTEC HNC in Creative Embroidery. This foundational experience in textiles then naturally evolved into explorations of painting, screen printing, and collage.
Ten years ago, Jane relocated to Bristol, where her artistic focus initially centred on watercolour and mixed media techniques. Her practice has continued to expand, and she now works predominantly in acrylics and collage. Despite her current emphasis on painting, Jane began her artistic endeavours as a collage artist and still produces a couple of pieces annually, acknowledging their time-consuming nature and the way they tend to dominate her studio space.
Jane’s paintings are described as “purely imaginative,” drawing inspiration from ideas stored within her mind and experimental techniques meticulously documented in her ideas books. While she expresses a love for creating paintings based on landscapes, inspiration can also emerge spontaneously. To overcome the daunting blank canvas, Jane employs an intuitive and experimental approach, rapidly covering the surface with a variety of materials such as random colours, inks, pastels, or whatever is readily available. This initial layer creates an uneven foundation that she can then develop and build upon.

During this formative stage, Jane may incorporate pieces of hand-dyed paper, which then informs the subsequent layers of paint and ultimately influences the final colour palette. Her process is characterised by continuous layering, scraping, diluting, and drawing, as she patiently works to reveal the beginnings of the finished artwork. This journey is described as exciting, filled with unexpected turns and developments. As she approaches completion, Jane’s painting activity diminishes, and she focuses more on drawing with various media, including ink, watercolour, pencil, or acrylic paint markers.

Jane’s artwork has found its way into private collections worldwide, including those in the UK, Europe, South Africa, the USA, and Australia, demonstrating the broad appeal of her imaginative creations. Further highlighting her engagement with the art community, Jane currently holds the position of Chair of The Friends of the RWA (Royal West of England Academy).

SALLY MULHOLLAND IS EXHIBITING UNTIL 26th JULY
Based in Portishead, Sally Mulholland is a versatile and accomplished studio potter whose artistic practice encompasses a diverse range of ceramic forms. From delicate, hand-built aesthetic pieces and compelling sculptural works to functional thrown pots and elegant tableware, Sally’s creations demonstrate a mastery of both form and surface.
Her artistic inspiration is deeply rooted in the natural environment of the West Country. The ever-changing hues and textures of the sea, the feel and look of the local mud, and the broader landscape all serve as constant sources of creative energy. This connection to place is further evident in her experimental approach to glazes, often incorporating unique additions such as sea glass, which adds a tactile and visual dimension that speaks directly to her coastal surroundings.

Sally’s creative spirit extends beyond her practice. She enjoys a collaborative partnership with her daughter, Daisy Mulholland, also known as @Nanni_Paa, a talented artist and illustrator based in Scotland. This intergenerational artistic dialogue likely brings fresh perspectives and enriches both their individual and shared creative endeavours.

Operating from her home studio in Portishead, Sally’s journey as a potter has taken her full circle. Originally hailing from the West Country, she spent time living in Scotland before returning to her roots in 2019. This experience of living in different landscapes may have further broadened her artistic sensibilities and informed her current work.
Beyond her personal artistic pursuits, Sally is deeply committed to fostering creativity within her community. She currently serves as a project leader at Banwell Pottery, a successful working studio run by the Brandon Trust. In this role, she provides invaluable support and guidance to adults with learning difficulties and autism, empowering them through the therapeutic and expressive medium of pottery. Her dedication to this inclusive and meaningful work highlights not only her artistic talent but also her compassionate and community-oriented nature.
