Culture

What is culture? Well one thing is for sure, it’s not easy to define! I think in this instance, it is about what makes Clevedon unique and enhances the quality of life which in our case is a mixture of classical heritage, a flourishing literary scene, an ever growing performing arts and music scene, fabulous architecture, famous walks, a myriad of eating establishments and a wealth of art in the many different shapes and forms it takes!

Our stunning Victorian Grade 1 listed Pier described by Sir John Betjeman, as “…the most beautiful pier in England” the famous ‘Poets’ Walk’ which provided inspiration for literary figures such as Samuel Coleridge and Alfred Lord Tennyson, Clevedon Court, the outstanding 14th-century manor house and 18th-century terraced garden and the recently restored ‘Marine Lake’ are all great cultural attractions for visitors and locals alike.

I hope that the ‘What’s on? page will contribute to an increased awareness of what is on offer in everything related to Food, Art, Culture, Entertainment and Shopping in Clevedon and in some cases lead to an increased uptake of interest. If you have any dates that you would like included on this page then do get in touch. I won’t be able to keep this page fresh without your support.
