Fizz Gallery owned and run by Clevedon based partnership Sandy Prater and Fenella Sandford opened its doors on Hill Road in 2005. The Gallery’s philosophy has remained a constant ‘friendly with a passion for art and beautiful things, our aim is to make art accessible to everyone in a relaxed and informal setting whilst providing high levels of expertise and a truly personal service.’
Fizz has so much to attract visitors and sustain interest; housing a fabulous collection of original paintings, limited edition prints, sculpture, glass, jewellery, ceramics and home accessories chosen for their individuality, all professionally and carefully displayed.
Over the last 14 years, Fizz has been growing its community of established and up and coming artists, designers and makers and currently represent some of the most collectable artists in the UK. Browsing their work on the website either by artist or by subject is an absolute delight.
Added to this they have over 25 years’ experience in bespoke picture framing. Their own framers are very experienced and fully qualified by the Fine Art Trade Guild. They use only the best materials and take great care to make sure everything they frame is of the highest quality. Whatever you need framing, the highly trained front of house team will advise and guide you to make the best choices for the piece.
Last but by no means least, Sandy and Fenella offer quite a unique, consultancy service which you might well like to take advanatge of if you have moved into a new home or you are decorating an existing space and are unsure of the piece (s) that would complement it. They understand how challenging it can be faced with an endless variety of choices and it is this that they can help you with. The key to their success in this area is their willingness to listen and ask questions – they will talk to you about colour, size, scale, likes and dislikes, your budget and anything else that might impact on your chocie. Armed with this infomation, their in-depth knowledge and their insightful tips on choosing art for the home, they will present you with a wealth of choices.
The dedicated team at Fizz Gallery are Sandy, Fenella, Gilly, Gill and Rosie.
Sandy co-owns the gallery with Fenella and has responsibility for the buying, marketing and business side of the gallery. Sandy’s early career spanned a 20-year period in graphic design agencies, market research and marketing. A love of art and a keen art collector, a chance meeting and friendship with an artist sparked an idea and Fizz Gallery was born.
Co-owner Fenella is responsible for all the displays. Her flair for putting together colour, shape, form and texture is plain to see when visiting the gallery, but it goes beyond just what you see – helping customers to place key pieces of art and furniture in their homes is all part of what she does effortlessly.
Gilly is very much a people person and her principal role at the gallery is serving and helping customers which she does with great ease and charm. Gilly also has the added responsibility of working with card suppliers to source the beautiful range of greetings cards that are available in the gallery.
Gill is the newest member of the team who like Gilly offers a very warm welcome and lots of friendly advice to customers. Gill is currently working towards her Masters in the history of art and architecture.
The most important member of the team is undoubtedly Rosie who joined in December 2013 from a rescue centre. Rosie aka ‘The Boss’ has her own loyal fan club who come in to check on her regularly!
